Project Officer - Non Profit

My client is seeking to fill a Project Officer role. The successful candidate will play an integral part within an existing project team. The Project Officer provides high level project support to the activities of the companies Directorate and works closely with the Senior Executive team. The role provides project support to new initiatives stemming from key policy areas including data analysis, research and international education.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide high level support to the Senior Executive team to identify opportunities and implement project initiatives
  • Play an important role in the strategic organisation of events such as policy briefings, conferences and other communication events through the provision of research and analysis as required. Contribute to the development of high level briefing papers, policy reports, speeches, government submissions and Board papers, under direction.
  • Undertaking background research, collating, analysing and presenting data to inform executive briefs and discussion papers on key issues.
  • Coordinating various projects, including planning and prioritising tasks and liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Be willing and able to take on other relevant policy areas as and if required and be prepared to provide back-up support in the event of staff absences.
  • Occasional work may be required outside normal business hours.

Selection Criteria

  • A high standard of written communication including the ability to prepare high quality correspondence, reports and project updates.
  • An ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a small team, using own initiative and judgement to manage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational ability to work with accuracy, set priorities and meet multiple deadlines within required timeframes.
  • Experience in liaising with a diverse range of people and an ability to act with diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Understanding of the higher education sector is desirable but not essentia
