Randstad is looking for experienced Public Affairs Officers at the APS5 - 6 level to commence contracts with various Federal Government clients.

You will be responsible for:

  • developing a working relationship with reporters and other media representatives
  • maintaining a robust community relations program
  • keeping contact with other government agencies
  • keeping internal and external publics informed on issues that may affect them

The experience you will bring:

  • A knowledge of media relations, with experience working in the industry
  • Writing media releases, speeches and/or editorials
  • Strong verbal and written communications and negotiation skills, including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the department, Ministers’ offices and the media
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy team and manage personal workloads
  • Capacity to think strategically and be innovative
  • Ability to work with tight timeframes whilst producing high quality material
  • Strong attention to detail
  • At least 2 years experience or relevant qualification is required.
