Risk and Compliance Officer

Summary

This is a 6 month contract and your role will be to assist in developing, embedding, and aligning risk management and governance practices that support delivery of company’s strategic plans. You will provide support to your line manager (Manager Audit, Risk & Governance) on risk management and governance initiatives to build capability across the business and encourage and sustain an organisational culture that supports performance improvement through innovation and business excellence.

The Role

  • Gather information from across the business to support regular reporting on performance, compliance, audit recommendations, risk etc.
  • Analyse and critically review supplied information i.e. does the response provide adequate and appropriate information.
  • Write content for inclusion in reporting.
  • Maintain policy register and intranet links – work with owners to ensure all relevant policies and procedures are included, current and linked.
  • Maintain compliance register – meet with owners and ensure content is current and provides evidence of compliance or action to improve.
  • Scan legislative and policy environment to ensure currency of information and follow up with the business.
  • Analyse external reports to benchmark to business
  • Build relationships at all levels and understand big picture.
  • Coordinate, plan and follow up on workshops/meetings and papers.
  • Present and facilitate workshops.
  • Take minutes and provide secretariat support for various workshop and meetings i.e. Audit and Risk Committee, Risk Assessments etc.
  • Document processes and plan/update intranet pages.

You

  • Be able to demonstrate in-depth experience and knowledge relevant to governance, risk and compliance management
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Act with integrity
  • Be able to work collaboratively
  • Influence and negotiate
  • Willing to get a National Criminal Records Check
