Management and maintenance of the Health and Safety Management System including; undertaking and recording safety observations and inspections. Maintaining documentation and procedures and completion of monthly and weekly reporting.

  • Safety and Training Coordinator

    • Darwin Region | Northern Territory | Australia
    • FIFO Roster ex. Darwin ( 8D / 6R)
  • Coordination and implementation of Safety Policies, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and providing expert advice to line mangers and the greater workforce.
  • Oversee and maintenance of the Training Management Process including: delivering training, recording compliance within the Training Management System. Ensure Training documentation is accurate and up to date and Training Needs Assessment is maintained. Ensure Training plans are up to date and the management and mentorship of on-crew trainers. Managing the Registered Training Organisations including cost and performance as well as the Health, Safety and Training contractors.
  • Responsible for development and adherence of Training team budget as well as management of team administration including; annual and long service leave, compliance and training plans, performance management and discipline and stores requisitions.
  • The successful candidate will have some of the following attributes (candidates that do not meet all of the below requirements may still be considered):

    • Vocational education in Training & Assessment, First Aid Certificate, Auditing qualifications.
    • Relevant work experience within the resources sector and mine production
    • Experience in safety training (mining related training)
    • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation legislation in Northern Territory.
    • Working knowledge or understanding of Cintellate, Ellipse and Pegasus systems will be highly regarded.
    • Solid planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well both in a team environment as well as unsupervised.
    • Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
