Security Network Engineer

Sydney CBD

6 month initial contract

Security Network Engineer required in Sydney for an initial 6 month contract. This position is responsible for delivery and support of Cyber Security remediation activities to drive the assessment and ongoing mitigation of cyber risks, delivering a pragmatic approach in improving the cyber security maturity.

You will work closely with established and passionates teams including Technology, Legal, and vendors to ensure that mitigation activities are socialized and feedbacks are incorporated.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing security network layouts and segments
  • Maintenance and support network security equipment, including firewalls (ASA, FortiGate, Palo Alto, F5 are essential)
  • Provide cyber security subject matter expertise on networking and architecture
  • Ensure work requests and project work are documented and managed effectively via the Governance framework
  • Relate business needs and cyber risks to network
  • Participate on Security Incidents and related investigation and network basic forensics

Required skills:

  • Broad knowledge of technology including networking, infrastructure, operating systems, virtualisation, database and middleware, disaster recovery and data centre (Hybrid)
  • Designing solutions for the cloud including Azure and AWS
  • Knowledge of business risk management in infrastructure environments
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Security Engineer focused on Network
  • Extensive hands-on experience on network infrastructure devices and services such as firewalls (ASA, FortiGate, Palo Alto, F5 are a must), routers, switches
  • Strong knowledge and experience in using ITIL, ISO 27000 series, COBIT, or NIST Security Standards
  • Hands-on experience in managing and supporting AWS and Azure networks
  • Effective communication and presentation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong customer service skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related discipline with 10 years post graduate experience or equivalent relevant industry experience
