The successful candidate will be responsible for performance and statistical reporting, profile planning and management, and student surveys) and Global Quality, Regulation and Compliance Group (responsible for overseeing and supporting quality assurance and compliance across all RMIT points of presence).

The Global Quality and Regulation Team sits within this group.

Position Summary:


The Senior Advisor Quality and Regulation is responsible for leading and supporting quality assurance, compliance
and improvement activity throughout RMIT. The role provides expert and strategic advice on external regulatory
requirements and oversees the university’s response to the requirements of external QA and regulatory bodies,
responding to recommendations, preparing submissions and liaising with relevant government and regulatory
agencies.

Key Accountabilities:


1. Support RMIT leaders in meeting their accountabilities under Government quality assurance requirements,
specifically the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency, and the Victorian Quality Australian Quality
Training Framework (AQTF), across all locations and all jurisdictions.
2. Prepare for external audit processes by State and Federal quality and regulatory agencies, and independently
draft institutional responses.
3. Monitor responses to external audit processes, advise and make recommendations to the Quality and Reviews
Team on points of intersection between these requirements and processes and the cycle of internal quality
reviews.
4. Provide advice to the Assistant Director on the regulatory and quality assurance environment and its
operational impacts and prepare briefing papers and recommendation as required.
5. Lead the implementation of recommendations across RMIT arising from internal and external reviews.
6. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that are required to underpin
quality assurance, compliance and quality improvement.
7. Identify, lead and facilitate continuous improvement activity and exchange of good practices across the
University, including development of policies, procedures and guidelines to support consistency and the
development of staff capabilities in this area.
8. Independently prepare submissions and recommendations to government and regulatory agencies.
9. Represent RMIT in external forums (domestic and international)

Key Selection Criteria:


1. Expert knowledge of the policy, quality and regulatory frameworks relevant to Australian and international
education and the operations of a global university.
2. Significant experience in leading and undertaking review activity.

3. Highly developed diagnostic, analytical and conceptual skills to identify and drive creative solutions and
practical strategy implementation.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of the tertiary education and training industry.
5. Demonstrated experience of working with a range of clients.
6. Excellent interpersonal communication, influencing and relationship building skills, including the ability to
effectively communicate with a range of people across and external to the University and in a wide range of
cultural and communication contexts.
