We are recruiting exclusively for a senior payroll officer to work on a payroll with a longstanding professional services company based in the heart of Melbourne.

The role reports into an established and supportive deputy CFO who is committed to the progression of their staff. They make an effort to organise and support outside training of the employees in the finance department. So whether it's leadership, improving your systems skills, improving on Excel or a new qualification they will have your back.

The Role

The position sits in the finance department and works in a team of two, running the payroll for approximately 260 employees that will likely grow by over 20% within the next year. You will be taking responsibility for the entire gamut of payroll tasks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing the full end of end payroll and...
  • Employee master data changes, award changes, salary sacrifice calculations, leave entitlement, tax, super payments, SGC reconciliations, GL reconciliations (payroll), attending to all payroll queries.
  • Seeking out and delivering process improvements in payroll.
  • Attending to other finance duties when payroll duties are not required.
  • Ad hoc reporting.


You will have proven experience as a hands on payroll officer and good technical knowledge and understanding.

You will have a respect for payroll confidentiality, excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, initiative and a good work ethic.
