Role:

This full time, non-ongoing Senior Project Officer works across a variety of national projects/programs which may include the development of new models of care, evidence-based reporting and insights, as well as undertaking analysis and evaluations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to further their career within health/policy/science.

Duties:

  • Develop, plan, manage, implement and evaluate projects (being responsible for own outputs)
  • Monitor and achieve project outcomes
  • Presenting research findings and key points by simplifying complex information in a succinct manner
  • Liaise and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including health specialists, other government agencies, consumers and professional organisations
  • Contribute to strategic planning across the program
  • Provide secretariat support and administrative responsibilities for steering/working groups
  • Attend a variety of forums involving internal and external stakeholders
  • When required conducting procurement activities for usually research projects; engaging contractors to complete work
  • Developing and managing funding plans, agreements, contracts, grants and procurement
  • Be accountable for prioritising work on several projects concurrently, including monitoring work flow and reviewing work of staff
  • Provide supervision, guidance, mentoring and/or support to Project Officers and new staff as required

Criteria:

  • You must have full working rights to work for 12 months consecutively.
  • You would have a background/knowledge/experience in: public health, health policy, science and/or research and analysis
  • You will ideally be available to start ASAP (Nov 19).
  • You will need to have excellent communication skills and a proven track record of operating across multiple projects at a Senior Project Officer level.
