Our client, a NSW Department are looking for a Senior Wayfinding Information Coordinator to manage the development and implementation of standards and content for customer information relating to services and operations, for implementation across wayfinding signage, maps, posters, stop inserts and other customer information channels.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide impetus for change across the portfolio through the provision of services which support both the vision for Customer Experience Division and the development of customer focused change strategies, programs and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the operations, analyse operations and interpret customer impacts, and translate operational detail into clear and accurate customer facing messages
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customer information providers on behalf of the Wayfinding Program
  • Provide expert advice and guidance about service information, standards, service identification and stop identification, to teams responsible for other customer information channels such as websites, trip planners, apps and announcements
  • In consultation with key stakeholders, prepare content briefs for network maps and other customer-facing map types, including developing and assessing content options
  • Establish clear briefing processes and content gathering and interpretation procedures for all customer facing bus maps, and for bus information incorporated into interchange guides and other multi-modal map types.
  • Support the wayfinding design team in rapidly developing and gaining approvals for signage guidelines and plans
  • Participate in design discussions, positively critique and question proposed design solutions, and support development of robust, workable design outcomes based on a sound understanding of services and best-practice examples
  • Review, proof and act as an authoritative sign-off for the content of signs, maps and other collateral produced for the Wayfinding Program. Provide ad-hoc subject matter expertise and input as required to other areas of CED, including to Data, Channels, Marketing, Campaigns, Brand and operational communication teams.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of customer information to a diverse customer base using a variety of channels, preferably in an environment where incidents and/or significant events can change requirements at short notice
  • Experience working in a transport service planning or operational role
  • Attention to detail, ability to proofread and demonstrated ability to produce clear and accurate documentation
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills and experience in applying these to improving standards of communication
  • Proven capacity for successful negotiation and influence in a challenging and complex environment
  • Experience in consultation and stakeholder management
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
