About the company

We are representing a Department within the NSW Government space that are offering roles within their respective Procurement divisions. This particular role is a 6 month initial contract with high potential to extend and located within the CBD.

About the role

This role involves the responsibility of supporting the category director to coordinate teams, develop category plans and strategies, manage sourcing projects, establish contracts that minimise risks and achieve best value and ensure benefits meet department’s business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage development, implementation and delivery of procurement category and contract strategies
  • Provide internal and external advice in respect to procurement policy and design of commercially viable solutions
  • Influence compliant and value driven processes and outcomes
  • Ensure negotiation plans are developed and optimal contract and performance terms are established.
  • Manage and achieve departments category management and sourcing practice centre of excellence, teams deliverables, targets, compliance with all applicable policy, regulatory and legislative requirements and overall success of goods and services
  • Mentor and develop staff including procurement practioners across the cluster

You will have qualifications within:

  • Ability to progress a complex project whilst considering stakeholders
  • Minimum 4 years procurement experience (ideally NSW government)
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline (ie. CIPS, PCTP level 4) or demonstrated equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Strong data analysis and stakeholder management skills
