Randstad is working with one of their favourite clients to find a System Administrator to join their team for a 6 month initial contract with the strong chance of extension based in Brisbane's CBD!

The Work:

  • Administration of AWS servers & implementation of AWS services
  • Administration of Windows Server systems on premises and Cloud
  • Monitoring of servers and services for proactive support
  • Administration of a SQL Server database platform
  • Administration of IIS Web Server environments
  • Maintain currency in server infrastructure, operating systems and relevant supported software
  • Hardware upgrades on server infrastructure (On premises & Cloud)
  • Producing and maintaining quality systems documentation
  • Communicate with clients giving advice on hosting solutions offered by the team
  • Provide timely and detailed oral/written advice as required on software, hardware and security matters

The Responsibilities:

  • Technical administration of Windows Server environments
  • Technical administration of SQL Server database platforms
  • Technical advice for supported clients
  • Regular reporting for software currency and availability information
  • Perform actions as part of the rotating weekly duty roster, including being part of either morning duty or afternoon duty
  • Ensure that deliverables are prioritised and completed within the specified timeframes
  • Compliance withthe company's Technical Architecture
  • Compliance to change, configuration, incident and problem management methodologies and systems.

The Requirements:

  • Supported AWS using EC2 instances, S3, simple DB, RDS(SQL), VPC
  • Hands own experience in AWS IAAS, PAAS
  • Manage EC2 launch configuration and auto scaling group AWS. Elastic cache, Elastic beanstalk, cloud watch
  • Automated deployment of products using cloud transformation script
  • Implementation experience s3 backups, Elastic beanstalk, monitoring tools
  • Designed cloud solutions for customers leveraging services including, but not limited to, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Route53, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch
  • YAML/JSON development especially relating to infrastructure as code
  • AWS IAM Policies, AWS API scripting
  • A good understanding of AWS Cloud security concepts - Security Groups, network security, encryption, auditing, monitoring and logging. Experience working with AWS Marketplace products - e.g Application Firewalls would also be a bonus
