The placements will include the following responsibilities: VSO Bangladesh is implementing Growing Together project funded by DFID’s BFCF grant. The project now has the opportunity to scale reach from its current 10,000 to 100,000 farming households within communities of up to 2 million people. The project, at the end of two years, will have brought 100,000 MSEs under formal financial inclusion as direct beneficiaries. Currently, there are 6 farmers center, where farmers are getting access to aggregation, access to finance, access to quality and inputs and agro-machineries rental. The volunteer will work closely with Farmers’ Centre Entrepreneurs (FCE’s) to facilitate farmers center’s technical and work system functioning properly. • Review the existing working systems of Farmers Center and find drawbacks of working systems. • Develop guidelines on how can production process be organized and strengthen a stable product supply round the year to national and international buyer and companies/supper markets through farmers’ centers. • Review the existing supply chain system of Growing Together project and analyse the marketing system like product flow, buyer requirements, existing facilities, pricing etc. • Identify potential supply chain players and their function, role and relationships in the trade system for functioning of chains as a whole and make the centers profitable. • Work closely with FCEs and identify the challenges/constraints and develop strategy to overcome the challenges. • Meet farmers to know their marketing requirements and develop strategy to the produce through farmers’ centers. • Activity may be modified based on field situation.
