job description

The jobholder is accountable to support execution of projects or lead specific task linked to the development of new products & flavors. Such projects are mainly related to innovation in products around the world. The job will require substantial hands-on work in lab and experimental brewery, combined with organization skills and proactivity - Responsible to create formulas following recipes, consistent scaling-up, shipping out and reception of samples, storage, etc. - Responsible to perform shelf-life and stability studies: formulation, blending, follow formulas and recipes, set-up tastings, conduct experiments, sending samples for analysis and analyzes of samples, Ship out and reception of samples internationally. - Responsible for lab requests, analysis requests, materials, shipments, flavors and ingredients, equipment, etc. - To organize, lead and support demonstrations, tastings, prototype shipments, etc.

qualification

- University Master degree in science area, preference for Bio Engineer, Bio-Chemical Engineer, Food Science, Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology or any correlated area; - Any brew course is an advantage; - Relevant experience within Product Development / flavor / ingredients industry. - Experience working in a lab environment, managing lab equipment, capabilities, materials - Experience to work in an R&D environment (strong knowledge on how R&D projects are built to create valuable innovations) is an advantage. - Lab experience in beverages and experience in flavor applications in foods and beverages; alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is strong advantage - Experience in other food additives i.e. colors, taste modulators, enhancers - Experience in formulation of foods and beverages, production, packaging, labeling and legislation - Experience in setting up and/or conduction of tastings and simple sensory tests - Good project management skills, strong organization skills; adheres to deadlines; - Good interpersonal communication skills are a must to effectively communicate protocols, interact with other functions - Demonstrated knowledge and experience to apply advanced problem solving. - Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage; - Strong communicator: interactions with laboratory of analysis and sensory - Strong ability to lead and manage experiments. Strong laboratory experience especially on conducting experiments, following formulas, use of equipment for beverage development - Conduct sensory tastings and set-up - Effective oral, organizational and written communication skills. - PC Literate: knowledge of MS Office environment (special ability with manipulation and analysis of data in Excel. Knowledge in statistical software / tools are an asset) - Very good analytical and synthetic skills - Able to take up hands-on work in the Lab - Knowledge of the brewing process is advantage
