Our client in the Port Colborne have partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer.

As a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer you will be responsible for the following,

- Routine maintenance and tasks related to running a co-generation plant
- Strong knowledge of operating procedures and runs shift within parameters
- Able to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner without interrupting production as much as possible
- Inspecting work area for preventative maintenance opportunities and implementing corrective actions
- Follow departmental maintenance schedule
- Review process data and determine areas for concern
- Use logic and process expertise to determine root cause and further his / her understanding of the process
- Makes suggestions for improvement
- Attends training sessions to gather information regarding company practices and procedures
- Maintains departmental housekeeping standards
- Follows health and safety standards
- Participates in the identification and correcting of unsafe conditions and behaviours
- Demonstrates high level of caution when exercising tasks
- Able to communicate and interact with co workers in a collaborative manner
- Able to understand and follow through on instructions
- Comply with company policies and procedures and the collective agreement
- Engage in performance management process

As a qualified 2nd Class Stationary Engineer you will possess the following,

- 2nd class of higher Stationary Engineer certificate
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine co generation and plant air systems
- 2-5 years shift engineer experience within manufacturing industry
- Extensive experience running a co generation plant including routine maintenance
- Strong computer skills - Excel and ABB (DCS) as well as exposure to PLC's
- Strong knowledge of TSSA and Continuous Improvement concepts like 5S and Kaizen
- Strong background working with little supervision and making autonomous decisions
