Role: Account Manager
Type: Permanent

We are a locally owned Freight company, who has experienced substantial year over year growth, and are looking to expand our business. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to exceed targets, and have proven successful B2B territory sales experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for increasing market share with your current client base, while prospecting for new business opportunities within a specified territory. This Account Manager position is 90% Existing Account Management and 10% New Business Development.

Overview of Responsibilities:

Account Management:

- Effectively maintain and build on existing book of business
- Strategically develop new business opportunities through effective prospecting
- Maintain and improve personal closing techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in a number of different industries
- Develop strong relationships with Operations team to ensure smooth service levels for all clients

New Business Development:
- Meet individually with customers to define scope of work
- Work in conjunction with the Operations Department to ensure equipment and manpower is available
- Partner with the Sales Administrative Coordinator to obtain rates and submit to customer
- Finalize agreement between customer and the Operations Department
- Participate and support the completion of contracts
Other Duties:
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with the QMS and production standards required by the Company and the industry as a whole
- Participate in all safety related, compliance, and regulatory programs and education
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Your experience includes:
- Previous Account Management experience in the transportation industry
- Proven ability to close sales in person
- Intense follow up and relationship building skills
- Can think outside of the box (be creative)
- Able to “read” your prospective clients
- Above average negotiating skills
- Be self-disciplined
- Treat your territory like it is your own business
- Team player
- Recognize your strengths and capitalize on them
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
- Must have familiar with the Edmonton area and the Oil and Gas industry
- Must have reliable, presentable vehicle
- Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean drivers abstract
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- 2 positive supervisory references
