Do you have previous experience working in an Accounting/Financial Analysis position in the Real Estate industry? Have you previously been responsible for various Fund Reporting duties? Are you looking for a new opportunity in a leading organization? If so we have an excellent opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for an Accountant to work a 3 month assignment (with potential for extension) in support of our client, a leader in the Financial Services industry! In this role you will work at their Downtown Toronto office, work full time hours from Monday - Friday, and earn a competitive rate of up to $35 per hour. As an Accountant, your will mainly be responsible for completing fund reporting processes and providing ongoing analytical support to produce financial reporting and ongoing operations of the offered 3rd party funds, mainly real estate. Additional responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with the Director of Fund Reporting to design and implement a risk-controlled to effectively manage investment structures; reporting needs through their life cycle
• Develop and implement processes and controls to support third party public and private funds, separate accounts client and financial/tax reporting. Also implement processes to ensure appropriate oversight is maintained on third party service providers.
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting incl. financial statements and regulatory filings
• Oversight of financial statement preparation under IFRS, US GAAP or specific regulatory requirements and annual audit coordination for the funds/separate account once the product is launched
• Support financial analysis of several products development initiatives
• Coordination of external audit
• Analyze and monitor product and fund expense budget to actual expenses
• Assist in preparation of CFO and Board of Directors reporting package on a quarterly basis

Qualifications
• University Business Degree and CPA or international designation (or working towards it); interest in CFA or working towards is considered an asset.
• Well versed in IFRS, US GAAP
• Fund reporting background is an asset
• Progressive experience in accounting, financial services and/or consulting firm with experience in the private investment management industry and/or real estate
• US and Canadian tax experience would be an asset
• Strong attention to detail and aptitude to learn
• Ability to multi-task and stay motivated to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to break down complex problems and offer practical solutions
• Entrepreneurial and be able to work with ambiguity
• Collaborative and be able to motivate different business units and supporting functions
• Well organized and with high level of energy and initiative to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment
• Good presentation and business writing skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and establish priorities to meet deadlines
• Advanced level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS office tools (e.g. Word and PowerPoint to develop reports, documents and presentations)
• Flexibility to work long hours as needed and work under tight deadlines
