Are you a junior accounting professional with a few years of experience in the Oil, Gas, and Energy industry? Are you looking for a new opportunity to develop your skills in a large and well recognized organization? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are currently looking for an Accounting Analyst to support our clients Calgary office.

In this role you will work full time hours from Monday to Friday on a 12 month assignment, and earn a competitive rate of $28.50 per hour. As an Accounting Analyst you will be responsible for supporting oil accounting for the company's assets. This role will assist with a range of basic oil accounting responsibilities including statement preparation, analysis projects and vacation coverage in the team. Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Issue monthly invoices and statements to customers
• Compile journal entries for the recording of revenue and associated receivables
• Data entry and validation to assist the team with monthly duties
• Update procedure documentation
• Research information to respond to audit and other queries
• Provide vacation coverage support
• Other administrative duties (i.e. scanning, filing, photocopying) as required
• Support the Oil Accounting team responsible for reporting revenue and volumes for all company-operated crude oil pipelines and facilities
• Impacts are typically confined to the immediate work area/department, although decisions impact customers
• Verbal communication consists of the collection and relay of basic facts with tact and diplomacy, e.g., customer inquiries, information exchange with partner organizations
• Written communication is primarily the use of predetermined content with minor modifications, forms or protocols

Qualifications
• 2-4 years of previous accounting experience, preferably in the Oil, Gas, or Energy industries
• Previous experience preparing financial statements, and a strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Advanced Technical skills (MS Excel, SAP, MS office)
• Excellent communications, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
