We are seeking a top Accounting Clerk to work on behalf of the Government in the heart of beautiful downtown Victoria, in a small friendly office.

Position: Permanent, full-time, Monday-Friday 8am - 4.30pm

• Setup new client information in the CRM pay system
• Review and move client payment schedules from different applications
• Process Financial Support Payments
• Reconcile payments processed
• Respond appropriately to inquiries and requests
• Prepare Receiver General remittances
• Scan and issue stop payments on cheques as required
• Prepare and issue T4Es at year end
• Perform other tasks as required as part of the running of the Financial Services Department

Skills and Requirements;
• High school diploma supplemented by education and training equivalent to the first level of a post-secondary accounting program
• Minimum two years experience in accounting, payroll or related experience
• Proficient user of payroll or accounting software, and spreadsheets
• Well organized and able to handle a high volume of work with accuracy and timeliness
• Able to work closely with others
• Able to work with and respect the nature of confidential information

• Salary is $43000 to 45000
• Benefits (medical, dental) and MSP coverage
• 3 weeks vacation, plus 2 flex days, plus stat
