Randstad is now looking for a part time Accounting Supervisor for a locally owned independent brokerage and real estate firm. This a temporary position with the strong possibility of going permanent!

ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR
Opportunity: Part time - 3 days per week. Temporary to permanent position.
Location: Victoria, BC - 15 minutes from Downtown
Hours: Flexible - 3 days per week
Salary: $20-23/hour to start
Start: As soon as possible

Responsibilities and Duties

The Accounting Supervisor works closely with direct reports to ensure completion of the following tasks:

• Billing, recording and collection of monthly income;
• Daily processing of sales transactions, client deposits and all property conveyancing activities;
• Processing accounts payable, manual and electronic payments;
• Processing monthly accrual and reversals for real estate sales transactions and Realtors's GST
• Processing monthly statements for Realtors';
• Reconciling all bank accounts and trust liability accounts;
• Preparing and completing journal entries;
• Processing remittances for GST, property taxes, payroll, WCB;
• Collecting on accounts receivable;
• Processing payroll and issuing cheques or electronic payments;
• Issuing T4s, T4As, and T5s;
• Preparing monthly and annual financial statements;
• Coordinating with external accounting firm and preparing yearend reports and schedules as necessary;
• Processing accounting matters for property management including deposits and cheques, landlord statements, monthly bank and trust account reconciliations and year end reports.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a progressively senior role in an accounting environment performing full cycle accounting, preferably in real estate or similar small business;
• College or Bachelor's degree in a business discipline, preferably Accounting.
• Knowledge of real estate industry, and Adagio Accounting program, would be an asset.
