Our client in the Guelph area, in the Power Generation industry, has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for an Applications Engineer to join their team! In this role, you would support the technical aspects of our sales & marketing activities as a power AC drive systems/power quality expert who excels at working directly with customers and technical consultants.

Specific responsibilities would include:
- Work closely with Engineering to verify technical proposals and solutions and their manufacturability.
- Meet with customers to understand their application challenges & recommend suitable power quality solutions to meet their business needs
- Simulate application conditions and provide validation of the proposed solutions using software and/or a physical test system
- Provide input into product development that identifies technology opportunities and risks including competition, innovation, the market and emerging technologies
- Work with Sales and Product Managers to understand market needs and assist with the definition of product requirements
- Support product launch activities by defining technical aspects of product collateral, ensuring market success through measured market tactics, and supporting Sales and Channel through pre and post-launch activities
- Participate in sales presentations in a technical consulting role, answers technical questions, understanding technical competitive advantage, and offer appropriate solutions.

As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an Applications Engineer role (or similar) addressing power quality issues and viable solutions
- Post secondary education in Electrical Engineering
- Able to work within an electrical test/lab environment to validate proposed power quality solutions
- Availability for occasional cross-border travel 10-15%
