A local, family run bookkeeping and tax firm in Victoria, BC is looking for a bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks skills to assist their team for their business.
**This office is a dog friendly environment**

BOOKKEEPER
Opportunity: Temporary or permanent contract depends on the level of experience
Location: Victoria BC
Pay: $18 - 20/hour, depending on experience
Start: ASAP

Job duties and Responsibilities:

• Accounts payable and receivable experience
• Assist accountants with tax preparations
• Arranging payment of accounts
• Checking figures and reporting for accuracy
• Recording the financial transactions of a business in bookkeeping software(Quick Books), spreadsheets or
databases
• Administering of bi-weekly payroll
• Carrying out bank reconciliations
• Participation in audits and compliance requests
• Communicating with a range of professionals and clients over the telephone
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to by accountants or partners

As a small office with dynamic needs, not all duties and responsibilities can be documented. All employees in the company are expected to be flexible and adaptable and to take on new and different work, as required and as the business necessitates, on an occasional or on-going basis. Everyone pitches in to do what it takes to meet the needs of the business.

Our Bookkeeper has the following attributes:

• 2 - 3+ years related experience
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Is inquisitive, and takes initiative and ownership in their work
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Highly proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, QuickBooks and some SAGE experience will be preferable
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns
• A friendly team player, with a positive can-do attitude
