Our client , a leader in the Education industry is looking for A Business Analyst witth a strong understanding of ERP systems to join their team on a permanent hire basis for a defined period of 3 years.

Under the direction of the Director, Enterprise Application the Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and responding to the business needs of internal college clients and stakeholders, to determine solutions to business challenges.

The incumbent is responsible for business analysis, requirements development/management, and enterprise applications knowledge from the user perspective and support in re-engineering of workflows and processes. Solutions often include a systems development component, but may also consist of business process reengineering, incremental process improvement and/or organizational change.

The Business Analyst is a key facilitator within the organization, acting as a bridge between the functional areas and the technical team.

Business Analysis and Consultation: 30%
o Lead and conduct business analysis, including highly sensitive business analysis investigations including restructuring of work/processes/structures that could include bargaining staff;

o Work at varying levels of detail and varying levels project phases to assess clients’ business challenges and opportunities;

o Lead workshops and 1:1 sessions with both business and technical staff, to elicit and document business requirements, develop business and data process flows and develop strategies to address;

o Work closely with the functional areas to optimize business processes, think innovatively and take advantage of application functionality to improve departmental and cross-departmental functions;

o Use in-depth knowledge of the business to anticipate future unstated requirements;

o Assist the business with documentation changes and developing a plan for incorporating the new/revised workflow into operations;

o Prepare information technology business cases, impact analysis specifications, cost/benefit analysis and gap analysis;

o Translate user requirements into functional specifications for use by IT technical staff including system design specifications encompassing process descriptions, database / file design and administration, systems and program logic, operating characteristics and user
interface.

2.
Advice and Expertise: 25%
o Utilize extensive knowledge of systems development lifecycle methodologies including implementing and upgrading major ERP system suites;

o Provide leadership to management and staff on the delivery of IT projects by multi-faceted project teams, including vendors;

o Provide general and situation-specific business analysis interpretation, expert technical knowledge and advice to functional areas regarding enterprise application processes, system integration and data stewardship;

o Collaborate with functional analysts and subject matter experts to develop consistent business analysis methods and best practices; Use of various methodologies including business re-engineering, lean six sigma, use cases, Activity Diagrams (i.e. Swim Lanes);

o Remain current with IT trends, specifically as they relate to business analysis and business driven IT initiatives;

o Participate in training initiatives, provides business analysis expertise, mentoring, advice and guidance towards improving Business Analysis competency across the organization.

Business Relationships / Partnerships: 25%
o Serve as the single window for clients to request enhancements / changes to enterprise applications;

o Create and maintain single window processes and workflows to improve client service.

o Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with functional subject matter experts and management to verify requirements were understood and met by final solution including coordination of client approval of requirements;

o Work with business to drive adoption and create value when leveraging technology solutions to satisfy business needs;

o Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with enterprise application vendors to fully understand application functionality and explore new requirements;

o Facilitate and manage communications and relationships throughout the project life cycle, through involvement in QA test planning and preparation, test execution, verification of test results and coordination of user acceptance signoff;

o Participate in steering committees, working groups and other stakeholder forums to ensure business alignment with IT solutions;

o Initiate, develop and maintain partnerships, relationships and regular contacts with ERP clients, vendors, and other local public sector organizations to foster collaborative and innovative approaches.

4.
Project Management: 15%
o Plays a key role in providing project plans and schedules for the development, and implementation of solutions, ensuring alignment with the user requirements;

o Develops, co-ordinates and maintains quality assurance processes;

o Provides project leadership to multi-faceted teams (including contractors and vendors) in various areas including risk assessment, testing and quality assurance ;

o Monitors progress, resolves problems and reports regularly to the assigned project manager;

o Acts as the project manager on small – medium sized projects.
