Our client is looking for an Intermediate Business Analyst to join a growing department.

As the ideal candidate you will be responsible for the following:

Develop BIA using a defined program methodology, provide status reports and work closely with senior business analyst of who’s BA’s responsible work products

Stakeholder Analysis

• Engage stakeholders impacted by OHS&E concerns;

• Conduct and document BIA’s

Business Requirements

• Identify and analyze business requirements and processes for the introduction of the program, including workforce plans, training needs, facility infrastructure and equipment, tools/PPE , operations and safety and security;

• Conduct a review of business processes and identify impacts and gaps;

• Identify business impacts due to legislation, policy and/or procedure;

• Develop business requirements and functional specifications that:
 Identify actors, use cases and their interactions;

 Detail functional, non-functional and autonomous system functions that can be used to readily develop test scripts.

Technical Requirements

• Develop business impact assessments and conduct technical workshops (as required) with business users

• Create hazard assessments of technology


• Develop workshop documents used to validate BIA’s

• Conduct workshops with senior BA and document results.

Testing (if required)

• Support business participation in system testing, perhaps assisting with identification of detects, re-testing (if needed) and reporting non-conformance to open standards and

• Support business participation in verifying corrective / preventative actions.

Analysis and Solution Definition

• Quickly understand business issues and the data challenges of the assigned business area/branch and section-level organization and industry;

• Reviews and edits requirements, process flows, activity descriptions and business impact assessments and recommendations related to proposed solution.

• Develops functional specifications and system design specifications, as required.

Technical Recommendation and Testing

• Conducts testing effort in coordination with project manager and senior BA.

• Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.

• Communicates needed changes to senior BA and PM.

• Assists in the facilitation of stakeholder meetings.

• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

Technical Understanding

• Possesses understanding in the areas of applications, database and system design.

• Understands Wireless, Internet, Intranet, Client/Server and Web Service architectures.

• Understands how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other.

• Acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.


• Develops relationships with stakeholders that foster collaborative approach.

• Communicates effectively to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.

• Manages stakeholder expectations effectively.

Must Haves

The qualified candidate will possess these skills and qualifications:

• Completed Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field;

• At least five (5) years of experience as a business analyst working within an SDLC, Agile or Scrum methodology is required.

• Three (3) years of experience with BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation); specifically using pool, lanes and tasks within collaboration diagrams, building activity descriptions and using gateways, events, transactions, data and choreographies. Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) will also be considered.

• Proven experience documenting existing business process, use cases, developing new processes using Microsoft Visio is required;

• Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and G-Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Slides, Drive and Sites) is required;

• Demonstrated experience working on in a team environment, with tight time lines and on medium to large projects is required.

Nice to Haves

Candidates with these skills and qualifications are desired:

• IIBA certification is preferred.

• Experience with Enterprise Architect (EA) will be considered an advantage;

• Experience with Envisio will be considered an asset;

• Experience with business impact assessments (BIA) is preferred;
