Do you have extensive machining experience? Are you comfortable and confident behind the DUS VDF800 CNC lathe? Are you adamant about providing accurate work with an acute attention to detail? If so, we have an opportunity for you!

Our client in Edmonton is looking for a Permanent Conversational Machinist to join their growing machining team to be paid at a rate of $35-$40 per hour. You will be responsible for interpreting production order information, drawings and blueprints, as well as part descriptions in an efficient manner. A DUS VDF800 lathe will be used in order to efficiently manufacture parts in accordance with provided specifications. The Conversational Machinist will understand the sequence of operations for a production order and will read and create programs on a Conversational Siemens Control, during production runs as required. Work orders are to be completed within deadlines, utilizing appropriate resources and strategy planning for each job. Necessary documentation will support every job in order to route the product to the appropriate location. The successful applicant for the position of Conversational machinist in Edmonton will also possess the skills necessary to use overhead cranes and pallet jacks to safety maneuver raw material and product safety around the plant. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the plant supervisor.

Qualifications
Applicants must have;
•5+ years machining experience
•DUS VDF 800 machine experience/ Siemens Conversational
•High School diploma
•A complete understanding of tapered threading
•The ability to understand and speak English clearly
•The ability to work in a team environment
•Ability to problem solve and work independently with minimal supervision
•General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry
•General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
•Red Seal Journeyman preferred
