Do you have previous experience in a regulatory compliance function within a bank? Have you handled oversight of various Audit and Accounting related functions, specifically ensuring those activities adhered to internal and external policies and procedures? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for a Compliance Privacy Officer to support a 6 month assignment in our client's Vancouver office. Assigned to a globally recognized banking institution, in this role you will collaborate with various LoBs with the aim of providing leadership with the development of the bank's Privacy Program. As a Compliance Privacy Officer you will earn a competitive rate of up to $90 per hour, and be responsible for the following:

• Collaborating with Compliance teams supporting global regions and diverse products to facilitate appropriate levels of information sharing and coordination related to Privacy Compliance Testing.
• Supporting the Canadian Privacy Officer with the duties and obligations of the Privacy Office.
• Ensuring all privacy requirements (e.g. laws, regulations) are considered from Canadian perspective
• Monitoring and reports to the Privacy Officer on performance of privacy activities in functions and /or lines of business
• Providing oversight of privacy risk assessment across the organization
• Providing direction and suggestions to enhance or modify privacy controls.
• Setting the direction privacy incident management process and triggers for reporting to the Regulator.
• Providing oversight for third party and internal data sharing agreements.
• Providing oversight for privacy complaints and access request handling.
• Following key trends and latest laws and regulations, in consultation with legal counsel.
• Keeping Compliance, Business and Functional management informed of significant matters and oversee a governance process designed to communicate timely and relevant information to Senior Management as well as Local/ Regional Management, via both established dashboards and other vehicles.
• Participating in the oversight and enhancement of the Compliance Testing infrastructure in support of reporting, capacity planning, plan development, administration and analysis of testing outcomes across testing areas.
• Coordinating organizational structure, budget and other administrative functions related to the Privacy Office function

• Work full time hours on a 6 month assignment

• Minimum of 10 years proven business, audit and/or accounting experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, related field or equivalent experience;
• Multiple years of experience in various privacy disciplines (e.g., policy, compliance, incident response, PII inventory, training and awareness)
• Ability to develop methodologies
• Experience of a wide range of business activity, product lines and regulatory topics.
• Proven organizational, planning, interpersonal, managerial, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and team building skills.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and proven ability to meet challenging deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English.
• Tenacity to follow issues through to resolution.
• Ability to exercise discretion, work independently within broad guidelines, tactfully handle sensitive and confidential data and complete assignments timely.
• Ability to work with different cultural groups and build consensus.
• Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C) desired
