Accounting Manager
Permanent
Edmonton, AB

We are currently seeking to connect with Edmonton’s top talent for a Permanent Accounting Manager position. Working in an industrial manufacturing environment, you will join a talented, dedicated team that works to support each other in a fast paced environment.

As the Accounting Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and administrative departments, providing direction, mentorship and guidance in accordance to the company objectives. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for the development of accounting policies and procedures, Financial management and bank reporting, operational analysis, budgeting and forecasting. The Accounting Manager will bring a unique understanding of how accounting can complement business operations, to be a valuable business partner.

The successful Accounting Manager candidate will have a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) and have 5+ years progressive accounting and supervisory experience in an industrial environment. This role requires travel to Eastern Canada twice annually, and Switzerland annually.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager is responsible for:

Management and Planning:
- Maintain and improve system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of the accounting and administrative departments
- Assist with the development of financial forecasting and strategies
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile
- Develop and maintain strong working relations with all members of the organization

Transactional and Reporting:
- Perform month end activities
- Review bank reconciliations prepared by administrative staff
- Ensure all AP transactions are completed accurately and on time
- Assist with the development of quarterly and annual budgets and forecasting
- Provide financial analysis
- Prepare/review bi-weekly payroll
- Comply with all provincial and federal tax filing requirements

Qualifications
Who you are:

- Professional Designation completed (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA)
- 5+ years’ experience supervising office operations for a mid-sized industrial organization
- Skilled communicator (verbal and written) with proven ability to build effective collaborative relations to advance organizational goals
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook
- Previous experience with Traverse software considered an asset
- Able to work under tight deadlines, while motivating the team to achieve their goals
