Our client located in the west end is looking for a Credit and Collections Specialist who can manage a portfolio of assigned accounts on a monthly basis. The role is responsible for collecting accounts receivable through effective credit and collections activities. You will work closely with Sales and Billing to resolve dispute related issues that prevent customers from making payment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts
Contacting customers to collect on outstanding receivables
Investigate and resolve outstanding claims, customer discrepancies and short payments
Make payment arrangements for delinquent accounts and bring them back to current status
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with the Billing and Sales teams to resolve billing discrepancies and to accelerate the collection process
Communicate and follow up effectively with the Sales dept regarding customer accounts on a timely basis to prevent losses or future write-offs
Enforce credit and collections policies around credit, payment collections, bad debts and write-offs
Coordinate new account requests
Complete credit applications to determine the credit viability of customers
Do account reconciliations and provide ongoing billing information to customers
Communicate risk to management and make recommendations to the Senior Manager, Credit & Collections to suspend high-risk or past due accounts
Prepare weekly management reports

College Diploma
3-5 years of collections experience in a commercial environment must be B2B Collections
Intermediate PC skills (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook)
Accounting system experience
Experience with Great Plains
Strong organizational and time management skills:
Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressures
Strong communication skills
Customer focused
Maintain confidentiality
