Do you have Customs experience with in-depth knowledge of the CBSA? Are you looking for a new opportunity to gain experience working for a leading company? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a Customs Analyst to support our client, a leading Medical Device and Pharmaceutical company, in there Markham office.

In this role you will work full time hours from Monday to Friday on a 5 month assignment beginning ASAP, earning a competitive rate of up to $31 per hour. As a Customs Analyst you will be responsible for providing support in managing the Customs compliance processes for import and export for the Consumer, MD&D and Pharma businesses in alignment with corporate policies and government regulations. Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Metrics and Performance:
• Develop and maintain metrics to measure key performance indicators around customs release, import, export and audit
• Participate in ongoing supplier performance review sessions.
• Manage or maintain relationships with 3PL partners such as customs brokers, UPS SC, Lakeside Logistics to drive business results.

Operational Support:
• Solution border issues with Broker and Business as it pertains to inbound and outbound freight.
• Provide Trade compliance guidance to CLS, partner companies and team members regarding customs legislation as required.
• Support initiatives and processes relating to compliance requirements outside of CBSA including SOX, Regulatory, GMP.
• Provide guidance and create documentation to support export related activity 40%

Cost Improvement:
Actively drive Cost or Process Improvement Initiatives to meet CLS or RTO business goals.

• Support the customs compliance program across all sectors in alignment with corporate policies to ensure customs activity complies with CBSA regulations.
• Conduct and/or Support audit reviews as subject matter expert across all sectors. Provide recommendations for solutions.
• Pursue Free Trade Agreement opportunities such as NAFTA certification, National customs rulings for duty favorability in line with Compliance Standards.
• Create Standard Operating Procedures, Work instructions and job aids as required to support WW Global Trade Standards and local process.
• Liaise with other company organizations regarding emerging customs technologies.
• Support for New Product Introduction – HS classification and Data base management.

• Gain experience working for a globally recognized organization
• Work full time hours on a 5 month assignment
• Earn a competitive rate of up to $31 per hour

• 3+ years of previous Canadian Customs experience, preferably for a mid-large sized organization
• Strong understanding of import and export processes
• In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Border Services Agency regulations
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external partners
