We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist - Data Engineer - Intermediate

Summary of tasks :
• Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
• Analyze and problem solve issues with current and planned systems as they relate to the integration and management of data
• Analyze data sources with little to no set documentation at times. Must take initiative to understand disparate data sources
• Monitor for timely and accurate completion of select data
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Data Analysis
• In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
• Must have extensive experience in Profiling data

Data Capture
• In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
• Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources
• In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality

Data Reporting
• In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
• Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
• Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
• Generate routine and ad hoc reports

Mandatory skills :
Advanced SQL programming skills are required
5-8+ years of IT industry experience - 5+ years of Data Warehousing experience;
Proven experience with major Database systems including development, design, optimization and maintenance.
3+ years experience with design and use of of datamarts, dimensional models, aggregates, multi-dimensional optimization technics in high volume environments.
Full Life Cycle Experience in Data Warehouse Design, Development
Familiar with (but not expert in) BI tools: Business Objects would be an asset
2-3+ years of Data Quality related experience (with or without tool based solutions)
Knowledge of Netezza Environment is a definite asset
Knowledge of the Agile BI methodology is a definite asset
Big data exposure is a definite asset
Previous data analyst experience
Strong analytical skills and strong business user focused
Proactive attitude with good inter-people skills to effectively interface to customers, team members, and other colleagues.
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
Team Player & Fast learner.
Candidate must understand business processes, be a detailed-oriented person and quickly grasp new concepts. Additionally the candidate will have strong presentation, interpersonal, software development and work management skills.
Must have sound time management skills
Knowledge of reporting tools and their application is a definite asset
Knowledge of BI prototyping methods and/or tools is a definite asset
Knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts and practices
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and must be able to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
