Our client in Scarborough is looking for a Director, Security Awareness to join their team permanently.
Must have experience security and management background

Key Job Accountabilities
- Managing a team of security professionals:
- Track and manage the bank’s security awareness programs.
- Provide vision, drive the design, development, implementation and promotion of security awareness activities across a variety of channels:
- Coordinate regular cybersecurity awareness information sessions and presentations across Scotiabank globally.
- Regularly support the CISO in the delivery of presentations to the Board of Directors, including independent Directors, business lines executive management meetings, risk committees, IT senior management meetings and the quarterly Information Security Council chaired by the CISO.
- Collaborate with HR teams in the ongoing development of the Bank’s mandatory security awareness training course required for all employees and contractors to take online.
- Deliver targeted presentations and communications that help employees to recognize specific cyber threats.
- Support the Bank’s customer awareness and education efforts which consider both retail and commercial account holders.
- Conduct ongoing periodic and targeted simulated phishing campaigns globally.
- Regularly update cybersecurity training and awareness materials including ongoing updates to security awareness content hosted in the Bank’s internal and external web sites.
- Collaborate with teams in the creation of various videos, blogs, educational screensavers etc.
- Maintain awareness of new legal and regulatory requirements, changes to industry practices as well as awareness of highly visible cybersecurity events and adjust security awareness programs accordingly.
- Set performance expectations, provide counsel and coaching required to develop a high performance team
- Ensure organizational ratification and implementation of security awareness programs.
- Cooperate with Policy and Standards ensuring alignment of security awareness programs with security standards.
- Cooperate with Regulatory Affairs and responding to regulatory matters and third party inquiries concerning security awareness programs.
- Engage in special projects which draw upon cross-functional resources.

Functional Competencies
- A mature and seasoned senior Information Security Professional with at least 10 years of progressive experience in Information technology and/or - Information Security
- Superior team management skills
- Exceptional organizational and negotiating skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - adapting to a variety of audiences including executives, business and technical professionals.
- Proven experience in development and implementation of security awareness programs and training
- Broad understanding of information technologies with demonstrated areas of technical expertise
- Spanish language, written and conversational an asset
- Solid understanding of the domains of information security
- Must be able to travel and have a valid passport

- This position is multifaceted and requires a high degree of adaptability, analytical capability and flexibility to effectively work within many complex environments on multiple initiatives and meet a wide variety of demands, often with short notice and stringent time lines. This is a fast paced, high pressure environment with significant degree of ambiguity and constantly shifting priorities.
- The incumbent must be a creative, self starting, results-oriented and highly motivated individual in order to help drive the ongoing development of the Bank’s security awareness programs.
- The incumbent must possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills in order to help form alliances, build consensus and obtain co-operation from stakeholders representing technical and non-technical disciplines including senior management.

Educational Requirements
• University Bachelor’s degree minimum
• At least one professional accreditation in the Information Security field (e.g. CISSP; CISA)
