We're looking for a Donations Processing Assistant for our reputed nonprofit health care organization, located close to Liberty Village, Toronto (Queen and Ossington).

This is an approximately 2-month contract role, paying $16-17/hour, with an opportunity to get your foot in the door with an amazing organization that would look great on your resume. This role starts as soon as possible!

What YOU will be doing as Donations Processing Assistant:

• Acknowledge and process received donations in a timely manner ensuring compliance with governing laws, regulations and organizational policies and procedures
• Diligently and accurately entering data in the system, notifying concerned department of the missing and incorrect information.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies between information in Raiser’s Edge and the General Ledger.
• Handle incoming tax receipt requests and general inquiries regarding gifts through email, phone lines and by fax;
• Support the issuance of accurate tax receipts and Thankyou letters to donors
• Manage hardcopy gift information, cancelled/damaged tax receipts, sequence of tax receipt numbers.
• Process credit card donations, for expired/declined credit cards and NSF payments liaison with customer service team
• Prepare bank deposits for cheque and cash donations
• Perform other adhoc duties

What YOU bring to the table:

• Experience in an administrative or clerical role in a nonprofit organization, or foundation.
• Experience working with Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database management system
• Ability to work well with computers, with great attention to detail.
• Excellent organization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Customer service-oriented personality
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
• Great team player!
