Under the leadership of a Technologist Team Leader, the successful candidate will assist with the installation, commissioning, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of distribution and transmission electrical apparatus, associated control and protective devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Troubleshoots problems with electrical equipment and/or systems, analyzes failures and complete reports.
· Installing, commissioning, construction, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing transmission and distribution electrical equipment, work on relay protective circuits and devices and associated controls.
· Perform troubleshooting and repairs on PLC, RTU, and HMI equipment.
· Carries out administrative functions and tasks including: preparing/completing routine paperwork, attending meetings, planning the execution of their own work and participating in assigned projects.
· Perform job planning and hazard assessments prior to start of all jobs.
· Operating a motor vehicle and ensuring NSC requirements are being met.
· Operating various types of equipment including electrical test equipment for performing maintenance and commissioning testing.
· Overnight stays and standby are also considered as part of this job, travel to work from temporary headquarters.
· All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with established safety and environmental policies, procedures and practices and applicable government legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma with a Diploma in Electrical Technology from a recognized technical institute and a trade certificate as a Journeyman Power Systems Electrician.
· A minimum of 2 years related experience in operation and maintenance, construction and commissioning of Substations.
· Effective interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
· A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
