job description

Randstad is hiring on behalf of one of our most prestigious partnering companies, Alstom Transport, to work on the exciting LRT Project as a Production Technician.

The Production Technician role is a hands-on role where you will be building the new light rail trains for Ottawa's new transit initiative. We are looking for people who have an exceptional attention to detail, are happy working at a fast pace and enjoy being part of a team.

Ask yourself:
• Do you have experience using hand and power tools such as drills, wrenches or crimpers?
• Are you able to read diagrams and follow assembly instructions?
• Can you measure accurately in both metric and imperial systems, and convert between the two?
• Do you want to be part of an exciting project in Ottawa?

If you can say yes to those questions then we might have the opportunity you're looking for.

Production Technicians on our team can enjoy a competitive compensation package, health benefits starting on your first day, and opportunities for bonuses and permanent positions with the client.

The best people for this job are dedicated to health and safety procedures, have good communication skills, and like seeing their efforts contribute to a high profile project.

• Reading electrical blueprints and schematics;
• Following technical instructions;
• Checking bill of material (BOM) against provided kits;
• Ensuring everything needed is there before starting a job;
• Performing duties required in dismantling, repairing, rebuilding, installing and testing electrical and mechanical systems and components;
• Operating wire cutters, strippers and mechanical tools for assembly of electrical parts.
