Our client in the Cambridge area has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team! The EH&S Coordinator will serve as the primary implementer for health, safety, and environmental programs and processes, to ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation as well as company requirements and to reduce risk of injury to team members and meet environmental protection obligations.

Specific responsibilities would include:
- Maintain accident prevention programs such as lockout, machine guarding, fall protection, electrical safety, ergonomics, exposure monitoring, hazard communication, and behavioral based safety program.
- Assist with the completion of work place audits, industrial hygiene surveys, and development, delivery and documentation of training courses.
- Development and delivery of site-specific focused EH&S training and education;
- Provide strategic support to the operations leadership developing training and inspection tools to support robust site EHS programs.
- Plan and direct EHS activities and programs; establish priority for project execution based upon site resources and cost of implementation.
- Support site execution of tactical initiatives in order to eliminate hazards and risks. Drive continuous EHS performance improvement.
- Leads the EH&S incident investigation/root cause analysis.
- Conducts risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions.

As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator role, or similar
- Post secondary education related to Health and Safety
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- A thorough knowledge of provincial and federal legislation affecting environmental, health, and safety.
- The ability to convert safety, health and environmental program goals into plant-specific action plans.
