Field Inspection Technician
Edmonton, AB

Are you an Inspector that holds an Ultrasonic (UT) certification and has two (2) plus years of manual UT experience in either the Oil & Gas or Energy sector? Are you looking to work full-time for an employer that provides you with the opportunity to work and play hard? If so, our client is looking for you.

Our Edmonton based client has an immediate need for a Field Inspection Technician and they may be waiting on you to apply.

Field Inspection Technician duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Assist Project Managers with the successful field execution of pipeline, tank, and furnace inspections in the oil & gas and energy industry sectors
• Ensure the safe and successful execution of onsite inspection activities
• Interact positively within the team to ensure successful execution of inspection projects
• Adhere to all of the client’s, customer’s and Industry safety practices and requirements
• Always act and operate in a safe, positive, and professional manner
• Support the client’s customers in a positive and professional manner to ensure a safe, successful project and customer satisfaction
• Communicate effectively with the internal Team to ensure success
• Support/supervise onsite inspection activities for pipelines, tanks, and furnaces. This includes but is not limited to inspection equipment preparation and operation, pump operation, installation of needed launching/receiving equipment, running pre-inspection/cleaning activities, operating tank, furnace, and pipeline inspection equipment, confirming successful inspection and data acquisition, and maintaining company equipment, vehicles, and property
• Travel to client and project job sites to perform site visits in preparation of project execution.
• Communicate effectively with Customers and Team in a technical and consultative manner to assess and resolve execution needs.
• Provide regular project status reports to the Team, as required.
• Demonstrate and adhere to our client’s Integrity values and ethics at all times

Field Inspection Technician Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) plus years previous NDE/NDT experience (Ultrasonics)
• CCGB Ultrasonic Certification (Level I or II)
• Technical certificate in an electronic, industrial, or mechanical discipline, or equivalent experience
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Working competency with computers and Microsoft Office products
• Excellent organizational skills and professional attitude
• Process/procedure focus
• Ability to travel up to within Canada for project site visits, operational support, customer meetings, and training.
• Ability to travel internationally for trainings and project support
• Reliable, self-motivated, and dependable
• Able to work within a team or independently.
• Possess, or be able to attain required industry certifications
• Ability to work both in standing and sitting positions for several hours at a time, both indoors and in inclement weather conditions, with the ability to lift up to 75lbs.
