Do you have 1 - 2 previous accounting experience in the finance/banking industry? Are you a recent graduate looking for a new opportunity to develop your skills in a leading organization? If so, look no further!

We are currently looking for a Financial Assistant to work a long term assignment (1.5 years) in our client's (one of the big 5 banks) downtown Toronto office. In this role you will work full time hours from Monday to Friday and earn a competitive rate of $25 per hour. As a Financial Assistant you will be responsible for the following:

Budget & Finance Support; Risk Management (90%)
• Manage budgets and finance for the EBM LOBs and their associated events & meetings.
• Inputs final expenses, balances risk with recording of payment information / currency / other necessary info
• Manages issues and questions on payments; cross-charge as necessary.
• Partners with other finance support to ensure consistency in processes/support.
• Assist in creating synergies between Canada and the U.S. EBM team
• Responsibility for ensuring standards are applied to all finances / payments for conferences and events

Client and Relationship Management (50%)
• Serve a team which plans and executes over 500 events during the year.
• Represent BMO with professionalism, courtesy and integrity
• Maintains relationships with our internal accounting, supplier, and finance groups

Qualifications
• Over 2 years of finance/accounting experience
• Expert Excel and outlook knowledge
• Strong communicator; Solid written communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task
• Professional polish and ability to interact with senior team members and internal finance contacts
• Team player, motivated and committed, self-starter and quick learner, confident, assertive
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communicator; Solid written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
