Our client in the Cambridge location are seeking a General Accountant to support them until the end of Jan 2019 on a contract basis.

In this role you would be responsible for:
- Reviewing and analyzing of the financial transactions and the timely and accurate preparation of the financial statements. - - Responsibility for the preparation and calculation of budgets and forecasts as required by the facility and corporate headquarters lies with this position.
- Full responsibility for the balance sheet as it pertains to financial statements, budgets, forecasting, analysis, etc.
- Complete various month-end activities including: reconciliations, analysis, creation of month end reports, etc.
- Prepare monthly DCR collateral report for the bank and submitting with all required backup schedules and calculation sheets
- Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet and cash flow statements and other reporting requirements
- Co-ordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures and analyze and report variances
- Responsible for compliance with Federal, Provincial and local corporate and other applicable taxes
- Review annual tax package for accuracy
- Collection and analysis of historical data to be used in the budget process
- Prepare journal entries as required and oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable positions providing assistance as may be required

- Monday to Friday (7:45am - 4:00pm) 37.5 hours/week
- Competitive wages $30.00 - $32.50 (pending experience)
- Eligibility to purchase benefits through Randstad's program

- Accounting designation or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Word
- Previous experience with an ERP system (3 Years)
- Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with people at all levels of business
- Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent problem solving skills (with minimal supervision)
