Human Resources Manager - Labour Relations
Camrose, AB
$85,000 - $100,000 annually

The Human Resources Manager – Labour Relations is a full cycle generalist position, reporting to the Director of Human Resources. As the Human Resources Labour Relations Manager you will provide professional Labour Relations programs and services to management and staff within a unionized environment.

Working closely with the Operations team and Union representatives in the following scope:

- Grievance resolution
- Contract interpretation and administration
- Collective bargaining
- Ensure consistent application and adherence to Labour Relations programs, processes and operational requirements
- Direct hourly employee disability management of claims
- Oversee the administration of benefits for all hourly personnel
- Develop training and succession planning programs
- Develop and maintain recognition and rewards programs to increase engagement and retention
- Working with department managers to effectively source, hire, train, coach and counsel staff for optimum performance

The Human Resources Manager – Labour Relations will be responsible for the organization and facilitation of labour management meetings. You will also be responsible for providing advice and assistance for third stage grievances, workplace investigations and legal advice as required.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:

- Post Secondary Education and ideally your CPHR designation
- 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources and Labour Relations, with at least 4 years leadership experience
- Previous and significant experience in HR within a unionized industrial experience
- Extensive labour relations and human resources experience, particularly in grievance resolution and collective bargaining agreement interpretation.
- Solid knowledge of provincial and federal legislation.
- Strong track record in working collaboratively with Plant Management and Union personnel and serving as a labour relations contact.
- Excellent negotiation skills to resolve problems.
- Proficient in coordinating with local management collective bargaining strategy and plans including strike plans.
- Proven success as a problem solver who prioritizes and meets deadlines and works effectively in a fast pace results driven unionized work environment.
- Experience in working in a multi-site manufacturing plant environment.
- Strong ability to coach and/or counsel others.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
