Do you have in-depth Canadian Income Tax experience? Have you previously been responsible for handling the tax related reporting for large organizations? Are you open to a short-term assignment while looking for the perfect opportunity? If so, please look no further!

We are currently looking for an Income Tax Advisor, Tax Reporting, to support our client, an industry leading Oil&Gas firm, in their North York office. In this role you will work full time hours from Monday - Friday on a 6 Week assignment, earning a competitive rate of up to $48 per hour. As an Income Tax Advisor, Tac Reporting, you will be responsible for carrying out the financial reporting for taxes function for assigned entities. This will include but not be limited to:

• Computation of the current and deferred tax provision on a quarterly basis, income tax disclosures and tax accounting research.
• Responsible for preparing income tax returns for assigned entities on a timely and accurate basis. This includes federal and provincial income tax returns including, but not limited to, partnership returns, trust returns, foreign affiliate and other non-resident forms. It also includes maintaining current calculations of adjusted cost base and surplus accounts.
• Supports the Financial Planning and Analysis team by providing forecast and budgeted income taxes for assigned entities.
• Provides Ad hoc income tax information and advice within the Toronto Tax Services Department as well as to other internal stakeholders such as the Controllers, Regulatory Affairs, Treasury, Business Development and Legal.
• Carries out income tax research as assigned and prepares written memorandums to document and support conclusions.
• Responsible for monitoring changes in tax legislation, jurisprudences, assessing policies and changes in tax accounting standards and communicate such changes on a timely basis. Prepares monthly presentation of such changes for discussion at monthly Tax Department meeting.
• Assists with federal and provincial income tax audits for assigned entities. Compile and prepare documentation as requested by the auditors and prepare responses to audit queries. Ensure positive and professional relationship with all taxing authorities.
• Participates in internally developed training programs and makes a commitment to continuous development of income tax and tax accounting skills.
• Contributes to the positive team environment of the Toronto Tax Services Department.
• Develops and maintains a strong understanding of the business.

Qualifications
• At least 5 years of income tax experience with focus on tax accounting and Canadian tax compliance
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with Corporate TaxPrep

Nice to have:
• Familiarity with CorpTax and OTP (OneSource Tax Provision)
• Familiarity with Excel macros, Oracle and HFM

Education/Certification:
• University graduate of Business Administration or a related discipline
• Accounting designation
• CICA In-Depth Tax Course – Levels I and II would be an asset
