Instructional Designer


Department: Learning & Development (Learning Design)



Reason for opening: Project work on a curriculum redesign



What are the hours of work; please specify break times as well: 37.5hrs/ week – hours are flexible (anywhere from 7:00am-7:00pm; however anticipated to be available during business hours (Eastern Time).


Will overtime be required (Y/N): Not anticipated.


If yes, how much forecasted overtime:


Likelihood of extension: Likely based on high performance to support other project work. Option might be available to convert to a full time role at the end of the contract if the candidate is interested.


Brief Project Description:

• Building a curriculum to support Financial Planners. Will leverage some existing content and also building net new. Will work with related SMEs to identify updates to content and will initiate changes to learning assets including Leader’s Guides, Participant Materials, PPTs, Job Aids, Handouts etc. (Learning Designer will also be required to create related storyboards or revisions for Web-Based Learning modules and provide direction to Learning Developer)

Team/Culture:

• Project Team involves Instructional Designers and Learning Developers. These roles will work closely together to complete related project deliverables. Internal clients within Personal & Commercial Banking will support with content reviews and providing subject matter expertise. Work environment and scope of deliverables are very collaborative.


Daily Responsibilities:

· Works with key business contacts to design and develop proposed learning solutions that are aligned to business requirements. This includes ability to flesh out a detailed design, scoping effort.

· Design of learning programs, modules or related performance support tools – includes new content development, revisions and adaptations.

· Provides guidance and support to build the capability of the client's employees.


Certifications:

· Post Secondary degree or expertise in adult education and workplace learning

· 5+ years professional experience developing learning solutions and/or contributing to projects.

· Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles

· Experience in Banking or Financial Services

What program/technology/software knowledge is essential for this role and in what capacity will the successful candidate be using it:

· Proven skill and capability with MS Office and Adobe Suites

· Experience designing and developing for authoring tools (StoryLine 3, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite)

· Working knowledge of Web Conference Platforms like Cisco WebEx and Adobe Connect

· Experience working with Financial Services – Financial Planners in particular

· Advanced level skill in Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite

· Experience working with and LMS (SuccessFactors is ideal)

Will there be training provided (Y/N) – an Orientation to the overall project and curriculum requirements; however it is anticipated the candidates should be familiar with working with running design projects, designing storyboards and content reviews and revisions so they can dive into the related requirements.
