Are you a Law Clerk with at least 5 years' experience in corporate law who is willing or very interested in doing more? Have you always been the 'go-to' person for any office trouble shooting? Do people regularly come to you for advice on a file or on office procedures? Are you already doing extra responsibilities but feel you are not fairly compensated for those added responsibilities? Do you get along well with a team, and tend to be described as the 'glue' that holds the office together? Do you like standing up for what's right for the team, and enjoy shopping for new an exciting tools that can help the team succeed? Want to take a load off the billable hours to do some more of the leadership responsibilities like coaching, advising, and policy improvement? If any of this applies to you, then this is your perfect role!

what you get:

• base salary $90,000 to $110,000 - commensurate to experience
• bonus of up to 10% (discretionary to firm performance)

what you have:

• law clerk diploma
• 5 years' minimum experience in Corporate Law
• a knack for building and maintaining great relationships
• an interest in leadership
• experience in coaching (formal or informal)
• caring nature
• flexibility to jump in during peak times
• strong organizational skills
• ability to manage multiple projects

what you will do:

• bill in the range of 400 to 500 hours per year
• draft share conditions, M&A transactions, corporate and tax reogrs
• dividend issuance
• process registrations and minute books
• train team on any new software or policies
• help develop new policies for work share
• update/maintain precedence database
• assist accounting to top up accounts as necessary
• reconcile department credit card
• manage group email
• assist in conflict management on new files
• assist with on-boarding of new lawyers and new clerks
• work with HR as liaison between lawyers and clerks
