We are presently recruiting for a Manager, Business Intelligence. Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will work in a fulltime capacity for our client, located in the heart of downtown Toronto.

While we are looking for a Manager of Business Intelligence, this role captures all that is a Business Systems Analyst! There are no direct reports reporting into this position.

In this role you will:

Provide ad-hoc analytics, data discovery and reports to generate insights towards the business’ objectives and enable executives to make informed decisions.

Continuously look into opportunities to automate and streamline operational processes using technology resources to increase profitability and efficiency within Finance and other departments in the Canadian business.

Work with the Business Intelligence team in US, and provide support in the design, development and delivery of the Financial Data Warehouse, OneSource and other Business Intelligence projects to the Canadian business.

Stay on top of current market trends, identify technology-related opportunities, conduct assessments of processes' impacts on the business, and design solutions.


•Provide analytic support on ad-hoc, month-end, budgeting and other business requests from Finance and the regional businesses which require querying data from or work with databases or datasets in EPIC, legacy broker systems, and other client enterprise applications.
•Observe and evaluate business processes, and provide recommendations and implementation strategies to improve the current budgeting, month-end and other operational processes.
•Contribute to business projects, for example, with the Finance Director in rolling out a Producer’s commission module in EPIC and designing and developing a model or process to match revenue generated by individual producer and his/her commissions, costs and expenses in order determine validation and estimate the return of investment at an individual producer basis.
•Develop reports with key financial and operational performance indicators to monitor and evaluate Canadian business performance.
•Conduct research and make recommendations on Business Intelligence applications and technologies to the Canadian business.
•Implement, maintain and educate on new tools where applicable and enable end users to enhance their output by properly utilizing these tools.
•Gain in-depth understanding of the data sources (e.g. OneSource Data cubes) and how they can be mined to produce meaningful operational reports.
•Work with the Sales department to connect data in Salesforce with EPIC and other business applications.

Degree level in Finance, information science, project management, or a related field
Accounting professional qualification is highly preferred but not mandatory
MS office Advance for Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS PowerBI, PowerPivot & other Business Intelligence Applications
VBA macro programming skill, programming background in SQL, Python, R, MDX, DAX…etc.

Technical Knowledge
A good understanding of the Insurance Brokerage Market
Previous P&C insurance experience may be preferred
