Facility Projects Manager
Edmonton

Our client, one of the largest public continuing care organizations in Canada, is looking to fill a permanent Facility Projects Manager role. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling technical projects. They will also be dealing with minor construction projects and renovations. It is essential the candidate can create positive relationships with customers, staff and visitors.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a team comprising of administrative support and specialized trades professions that support all the sites.

Salary: $84,000 – $100,000 (depending on experience)
Potential of up to $30,000 in benefits/pension
Day shift: 8:00AM – 4:15PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Establishing corporate priorities for projects, programs and project management practices and policies.
Securing resources internally and externally to deliver programs and projects
Hiring consultants and contractors
Preparing and providing tender documents for the purpose of obtaining competitive quotes
Contract management
Creating positive relationships

Required Qualifications

10 years’ experience in construction/project management, engineering, architecture, or maintenance including at least three years in a supervisory or management role
One or more of the following:
Bachelor of Engineering with specialization in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or recognized equivalent
Journey certification in a building trade
NAIT diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Technology
Certificate as a Technologist
Must be a member of an appropriate professional association such as ASET

Desired Qualifications

Health care facilities related maintenance or construction experience is preferred
Engineering design or architectural design
Strategic Planning, Capital Planning and Project Management experience
Computer applications (CAD, computerized maintenance programs, project management programs, Microsoft Office, scheduling programs, etc.)
Staff supervision
Solid knowledge and understanding of the construction trades and related issues
Building systems review and development
Energy management techniques
Interpretation of building plans and specifications

Must be creative and adaptable with developed analytical and problem solving skills
