We are seeking an experienced Materials and Inventory Analyst for an industry leading heavy machinery client of ours in the Vancouver area.


•Directs and coordinates activities of the Materials and Inventory Control Group in processing/compiling data/records concerned with controlling inventory accuracy, levels, location, movement, receiving, returns, storing, issuing, and disposal of excess/obsolete stock.
•Executes order planning (determine make/buy sourcing); advising lead times to Sales Department, release of order picking documents, and availability to ship determination.
•Oversees and reviews the periodic inventory and spot cycle counts; ensures regular maintenance of related records concerned with ordering, receiving, sorting, issuing, and shipping materials into and out of inventory.
•Oversees physical inventory in offsite warehouse (Supercenter/ECO)
•Develops, maintains, reviews, analyzes and recommends Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) within Inventory Control
•Establishes procedures and guidelines to maintain inventory accuracy and provides regular reports
•Evaluates the execution and maintenance of the inventory control programs, contributes to the development of the program
•Coordinates flow of materials or products through consignment/supplier store rooms in cooperation with other departments


•Post-secondary education or the equivalent knowledge acquired in whatever way. CPIM designation an asset. Minimum 3 years of experience within inventory control/management.
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures and applicable local government regulations. Ability to write reports, present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors and employees. Must be fluent in English.
•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
•Must have a very good level of communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer skills and applications such as Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point). Oracle, SAP or other significant ERP system knowledge a plus.
•Up to 10% travel, both domestic and international, will be required. It is expected that you will possess and will maintain a valid passport at all times. Company will cover all costs associated with visa requirements and passport maintenance.
