Reporting to the Assistant Manager and Senior Engineer of Mechanical the Mechanical Designer provides technical support and design expertise in relation to mechanical engineering designs for transit related facilities and structures.

Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Technologist provides technical sup[port and design expertise in relation to mechanical engineering work including heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, high pressure piping, fluid storage and distribution systems.

Extracting existing drawings and conducting site surveys to determine existing conditions

Develop mechanical designs, specifications, and CADD drawings using Microsoft Office and and Microstation systems.

Researching and incorporating relevant codes and standards associated with Ontario Building Code, Fire Code

Reviewing Shop Drawings

Reviewing design and studies prepared by consultants for accuracy, completeness, maintainability, construct ability and compliance.

Education:

Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma or Equivalent.

Strong working drawing experience using Microstation

Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Codes
