job description

Our client located in Toronto is looking for a PHP developer with Codeignitor experience.

PHP and JS Developer - Codeigniter knowledge required
Ca Toronto, ON

We are looking for a PHP and Javascript Developer to join our Team. This is not an entry-level position.
The Client operates clinics in Ontario and Alberta for medical cannabis patients. In our clinics, patients meet with doctors as well as cannabis counselors that assist them in registering with licensed cannabis producers.
Our original web app is built on Codeigniter. Work on the app began in 2014, and as coding practices have changed in PHP, the app has been updated along with them. The application uses Composer, has a Vagrantfile for deployment as part of the git repo, and any non-framework related business logic uses namespaces and interfaces.
Our secondary web app, which serves as a backend data-puller and organizer is based on Laravel 5.3 and Elasticsearch. We are still completing work on it.
We need a modern PHP and JS developer to join our team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Understanding of modern PHP practices. Please do not apply if most of the concepts in http://www.phptherightway.com/ do not make sense. This is not an entry-level position.
* Experience with writing Codeigniter 2 and Laravel 5.2+ based web apps.
* Experience with jQuery and Bootstrap 3
* Ability to use Git
* Experience with RDMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL based databases (MongoDB, etc)
* Ability to use the CLI
