PIPELINE INTEGRITY ANALYST

This position provides technical leadership or support leveraging large and varied data sets to complete analytics to improve decision making or optimization related to in-line inspection-based pipeline threat management programs. Working with senior engineers in the Integrity Diagnostics team, this role supports monitoring and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our client's Pipeline Integrity Departments programs.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead projects and/or support technical experts by completing descriptive and diagnostic analytics to communicate demonstrated performance to varied stakeholders

• Maintain and improve visualization of performance measure data

• Support development of predictive and prescriptive analytics to allow data-driven decision making and optimization of in-line inspection-based pipeline threat management programs

• Collect and prepare data for analytics projects, including data quality assurance

• Provide recommendations to technical subject-matter experts on beneficial continuous improvement or development projects

• Support measurement of effectiveness and efficiency of threat management programs on the mainline and within facilities

• Supporting an environment in which continuous improvement of the enterprise’s project development systems, tools, processes and standards takes place.

• Works independently or as part of a team to complete data preparation, quality assurance, and analytics supporting data-driven decision making and optimization in pipeline integrity

• Participate in discussions with subject-matter experts on various threats and asset types within Pipeline Integrity.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in an engineering discipline or science discipline
• Two or more years of related work experience
• Basic understanding of statistical and analytics principles
• Intermediate to advanced scripting skills
• Demonstrated ability to leverage data to support decision making and/or optimization
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Preferred:
• Advanced understanding of statistical and analytics principles
• Experience with R, Python, Excel VBA, Power Query and/or Power BI
• Experience related to data mining, visualization of large data sets, and/or building predictive models
• Pipeline integrity experience is preferred, but not required
• Ability to link technical analysis with business implications
• P. Eng or equivalent
