We are currently looking for a hard working and highly motivated Policy Analyst to assist with a large-scale project within the Government of Alberta. In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Policy review and development
• Research and analysis of existing policies and best practices
• Coordination with all line areas on an ongoing basis
• Utilizing and forming policies to shift the organization from the current state to the desired state
• Provide measurable goals and desired outcomes and champion these to internal and external stakeholders

This is a diverse and challenging position, and we're looking for a candidate that is up to the challenge. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of Government of Alberta policies and procedures, in addition to the following requirements:

• Not less than 5 years of progressive experience within the Government of Alberta
• Strong communication skills and the ability to draft and compile briefing materials
• Exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to understand complex matters quickly and with an emphasis on professionalism
• Knowledge of programs and services offered in other jurisdictions throughout the province
• FOIP training is considered an asset but is not a requirement for this role
• Previous experience in Human Services or Children’s Services is considered an asset
