Our client in the Burlington area has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Procurement Specialist to join their team! In this role, you would oversee the daily purchasing activities in this fast paced environment.

Specific responsibilities would include:
- Purchasing materials based on inventory levels according to suppliers terms and agreements
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve supply shortages, missed deliveries, order errors and notify planning of the issues in timely basis
- Sourcing products, identifying & qualifying vendors
- Identify and implement cost savings through spend analysis, supplier negotiations, business resourcing, and other purchasing methods
- Prepare & issue purchase orders, follow up on order status & delivery, communicate delays
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of POs and their attachments and obtain proper approval
- Manage and maintain orders to meet internal volume and production needs.
- Obtain price quotations from suppliers, compare, negotiate if need be, and prepare purchase orders as needed
- Develop, maintain and build supplier relationships
- Source carriers for shipments
- Prepare documentation (BOL, customs documents for inbound and outbound shipments)
- Setup and maintenance of inventory database, inventory transfers

As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
- 2+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with purchasing within metal manufacturing
- Post secondary education in related field
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office
- Experience in ERP/MRP systems with preference given to Microsoft Dynamics Nav
- Knowledge of NAFTA, Customs and Export Documentation and INCO terms
