Job Title: Project Manager
Department: Calgary Design Build
Location: Calgary, AB
Reports to: Director, Design Build

Our client is a growth-oriented industry leader providing professional electrical engineering and construction services specializing in emerging marketplaces in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. They offer design and design/build services for all types of electric utility distribution infrastructure to a wide variety of clients including electric utility companies, developers, builders, commercial and industrial businesses, oil companies, government, and private contractors.

Our client has an opening for a Project Manager in their Calgary office.

Job Duties:
• Responsible for the overall execution of underground/overhead electrical distribution and street lighting turnkey design build projects (4kV to 25kV)
• Accountable for the on-budget and on-schedule delivery of concurrent turnkey projects from engineering through construction to energization while maintaining a high degree of quality
• Preparation of takeoffs, estimates and proposals inclusive of engineering, materials procurement and construction for turnkey projects
• Occasional off-site meetings, site visits and field inspections in the Calgary area
• Coordination with customers, municipal authorities, other utilities and various projects stakeholders for project execution
• Project schedule, cost and communication management and reporting
• Proactively consult and develop solutions for clients to suit their business needs
• Clearly communicate with clients and project stakeholders to mitigate project risks and expectations
• Project acquisition, sales and customer relationship building
• Peer mentoring and training with other team members
• Other duties as required

You must have:
• Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized college or university
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities with schedule and budget constraints
• Client focused interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong business relationships
• Proficient verbal and written English language skills
• Confident collaborative skills and willingness to liaise with other disciplines
• Commitment to safety and ethical practices
• Electrical distribution, substation, network, transmission or street lighting design experience (both underground and overhead) would be considered an asset
• PMP designation through PMI Institute would be considered an asset
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, PLS-CADD, ArcFM or AGI32 software packages would be considered an asset
• Experience with ENMAX, FortisAlberta or Atco Electric would be considered an asset
• Experience in residential and commercial subdivision site servicing would be considered an asset
